Product Overview

Consistency is Key
Horses thrive on consistency, but there„s nothing consistent about competition: performance schedules are anything but predictable, new neighbors arrive in adjoining stalls, and arenas and environments are constantly changing. This inconsistency can take a toll- affecting health, attitude, and performance. In fact, even common activities including stall confinement, exercise, and transportation are known to cause stress in horses, which may challenge their immune systems and can lead to gastric discomfort.

Purina® Ultium® Gastric Care horse formula helps equine athletes during the stress of competition by providing optimal gastric and immune support.

Purina® Ultium® Gastric Care horse formula was developed by Purina„s Ph.D. Equine Nutritionists and Veterinarians to provide consistent support during times of stress. This feed is the culmination of decades of Purina equine nutrition research, and contains specialized ingredients designed to support a healthy gastric environment and immune system.

Caution

Follow label directions. Feeding added selenium at levels in excess of 0.3 ppm in the total diet is prohibited.

Important

Feeding rates will vary with size, age, temperament, health status, forage quality, climate and activity level. Feed at regular times, at least twice daily. Do not feed more than 0.5 lbs/100 lbs of body weight per meal. Do not feed free-choice. Prevent rapid eating by the horse of any feedstuff.

Reduce and/or delay feeding a horse which is hot, excited or showing pain, has fever or diarrhea. Consult your veterinarian if any problems arise.

Always feed a minimum of 1.0 to 1.2 lbs per 100 lbs of body weight of good quality clean hay or the equivalent in pasture.

Any feed changes should be made gradually over a period of 7 to 10 days. Changes in the rate of feeding should not exceed 1.0 lb per day for each horse.

Provide fresh, clean water at all times. Provide your horse with access to salt. Consult with your veterinarian regularly and maintain a routine dental, parasite control and health care program for your horse.
